What do Vimeo review links cost?
Vimeo review links come with a Vimeo plan, priced per seat, from $12 a month on annual billing (October 2026 prices). Vimeo’s pricing page showed these plans when we looked on October 9, 2026:
Starter: $12 per seat a month billed annually ($144 a year), or $20 billed monthly. It includes 1 user and 2 TB of storage.
Standard: $25 per seat a month billed annually ($300 a year), or $41 billed monthly. It includes 5 seats and 4 TB of storage.
Advanced: $75 per seat a month billed annually ($900 a year), or $125 billed monthly. It includes 10 seats and 7 TB of storage.
Enterprise: custom.
Per-seat annual prices from Vimeo's pricing page on October 9, 2026, with what each plan's review link includes. ICONS Review has no seats.
Vimeo’s own pages disagree on which plans include full review. On the pricing table, video review and configurable review links are marked as included on all paid plans. Yet the Starter plan help article lists “Video review (demo version only)”, and the review-links help article names Standard and above for additional review links and features. Treat Standard as the safe starting point if review matters to you.
There is also a Free plan, described in Vimeo’s help center, with one seat and one review link per video.
What does ICONS Review cost?
ICONS Review costs nothing: no seats, no tiers, and nothing for the reviewer to install. Production clients get it as part of every edit, so each episode, trailer and clip comes to you as a review link. If ICONS doesn’t produce your show, the ICONS Review page has a form where you ask for access. The same tool handles review inside ICONS DIY.
That makes the comparison uneven, and it helps to say so. Vimeo is a platform you pay for and run yourself. ICONS Review is the approval step in a production service, available to other hosts on request.
What do comments and approvals look like in each tool?
Vimeo review links and ICONS Review both pin feedback to a time in the video and track approval, with similar status names. Vimeo presents review links as a way to share videos for time-coded feedback on a custom review page. Its help center lists In progress, Needs review and Approved as statuses, and a setting can let reviewers mark a video Approved.
ICONS Review goes further on precision and markup:
Exact frames. The review copy is re-timed so each comment lands on one frame and timecode, with range comments for a stretch.
Drawing. Pen, arrow, rectangle and circle mark the paused frame.
To-do list. Replies, resolve and hide-resolved turn notes into a checklist for the editor.
Versions. Each new upload becomes v2, v3 and so on, with its own comments and status.
Compare. The team can run two versions side by side, or wipe between them.
Vimeo’s pages checked for this article did not mention drawing or side-by-side compare; it offers version history with restore. Tips for writing time-coded edit notes apply to both tools.
How do they compare on privacy, subtitles and notifications?
ICONS Review puts privacy controls on every link, while Vimeo keeps review-link passwords for paid plans. Vimeo’s help center says “Password protection for review links requires a paid plan,” and the Free plan allows expiry up to one month.
ICONS Review links carry:
a passphrase, stored in scrambled form;
an expiry date and an instant switch-off;
an on-screen watermark with the viewer’s name or email;
per-link permissions for commenting, approving, downloading and seeing earlier versions.
On subtitles, Vimeo lets you edit transcripts and upload SRT or WebVTT files. ICONS Review lets a client suggest word-level fixes on each subtitle line; the team accepts them and downloads the corrected file.
Notifications favour Vimeo. It can email you for comments, mentions and replies. ICONS Review sends no email; the ICONS team sends the link when an edit is ready.
Where Vimeo review links do more
Vimeo does more because review is one part of a full video platform. These are real advantages:
Hosting and playback. The same account stores, plays and embeds your videos, with terabytes of storage.
Email notifications for comments, mentions and replies.
Premiere Pro integration. Vimeo’s time-coded comments sync into Premiere as markers.
Mobile review. Vimeo’s iOS app lets team members leave time-coded review notes.
Big files. The pricing FAQ lists a 300 GB and 24-hour limit per video file on any plan.
Anyone can start. The Free plan is open today, with no invitation needed.
Where ICONS Review does more
ICONS Review does more as a dedicated approval tool for podcast edits. Its advantages:
Free, with no seats. Clients never need an account.
Privacy on every link. Passphrase, expiry, viewer watermark and switch-off are included.
Drawing and frame accuracy for precise visual notes.
Subtitle suggestions inside the review.
Editor exports. Comments export as DaVinci Resolve markers, a spreadsheet or a subtitle file.
Connected to ICONS Live. Finished recordings arrive in review with their transcript.
So which should you choose?
Choose Vimeo if you already host video there and manage your own editor; choose ICONS Review if ICONS produces your show or you want a dedicated approval link. Here is how that plays out for three agents:
Solo agent sending the odd edit to a freelancer: Vimeo’s Free plan gives one review link per video. Move to Standard if you need passwords or more review features.
ICONS-produced show, or a host who has asked for access: ICONS Review. Approvals, subtitle fixes and versions come with every edit.
Agent already paying for Vimeo to host listing videos: use its review links for your own edits. If ICONS takes over the podcast, episode review moves to ICONS Review.
Vimeo is the hosting-first option among the tools we compared; Frame.io vs ICONS Review covers the per-member platform and Filestage vs ICONS Review the team-approval one, with all four in one table in podcast review and approval tools compared. The video side of a show is covered in video podcast production for real estate agents, and the whole pipeline in how an agent’s podcast gets produced. To hand off the editing and the review together, ICONS Podcast Production does both.
