Compared side by side, podcast hosting for real estate agents ranges from free to about $150 a month in October 2026. Spotify for Creators and ICONS Podcast hosting are free. Buzzsprout and Podbean have limited free plans, and Libsyn, Blubrry, Transistor and Captivate start between $7 and $19 a month. The trade-offs are video, certified stats and transcripts.

How do the podcast hosts compare on price?

Eight hosts compared here charge in different ways: by upload hours, by downloads, or not at all. Every paid host’s row uses its own pricing page as of October 9, 2026, and the last row uses the ICONS Podcast hosting page.

Each paid host, and Spotify, has its own detailed comparison with ICONS Podcast hosting:

What does a year of hosting cost?

A year of hosting for one audio show costs between nothing and about $230 on these entry plans. The figures are worked examples from each host’s listed prices in October 2026, not quotes, and they leave out add-ons.

Host and planListed priceApproximate year
Spotify for CreatorsFree$0
ICONS Podcast hostingFree$0
Blubrry Standard 1.5, monthly$7 a month$84
Podbean Unlimited Audio, yearly$12 a month billed yearly$144
Libsyn Basic$12 a month$144
Buzzsprout Audio, annual$15 a month billed annually$180
Transistor Starter, yearly$190 a year$190
Captivate Personal, yearly$17 a month paid yearly$204
Bars for twelve months on each host's entry plan, from $204 for Captivate Personal down to $84 for Blubrry and $0 for Spotify for Creators and ICONS
On entry plans the spread is $0 to $204 a year; the limits behind each bar, hours or downloads, matter more than the gap between bars.

Limits differ more than prices. Blubrry Standard 1.5 covers 1.5 published hours a month and Libsyn Basic 3 hours, while Transistor and Captivate cap monthly downloads instead. Transcripts are extra on Transistor, Captivate and Blubrry.

How do the hosts compare on stats?

Five of the paid hosts list IAB-certified stats, at least on some plans. Buzzsprout says its “statistics are IAB 2.2 certified.” Podbean says it is “IAB Tech Lab Certified.” Captivate lists “IAB certified analytics.” Libsyn uses both “IAB Verified” and “officially IAB Certified” on different pages. Blubrry includes IAB-certified statistics on Advanced plans only.

Transistor’s help article on IAB compliance says it is “compliant with IAB guidelines” but does “not pay for the annual IAB certification.” ICONS Podcast hosting publishes the method it counts by, filtering bots and counting a download after one minute of audio, but is not IAB-certified. Spotify for Creators’ IAB status wasn’t stated on the pages checked.

How do the hosts compare on transcripts and show notes?

Transcripts and AI show notes range from included to paid add-ons. Here’s how each host handles them, from its own pages:

  1. Buzzsprout: transcripts on all current paid plans; Cohost AI for titles and descriptions is a paid add-on.
  2. Libsyn: upload your own transcripts or use Apple Podcasts’ automatic ones.
  3. Blubrry: transcripts are an add-on through Rev; AI tools are listed on plan cards, with limits described on its AI page.
  4. Podbean: transcripts and show notes run on AI credits included with each plan.
  5. Transistor: transcription is $5 or $20 a month extra.
  6. Captivate: $5 for five hours of transcription through Captivate Assistant.
  7. Spotify for Creators: some shows get auto-generated transcripts, not all.
  8. ICONS Podcast hosting: English transcripts and AI drafts of titles, summaries and chapters, included.

How do the hosts compare on video?

Video support is the clearest dividing line between these hosts. Buzzsprout publishes video to YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts on its Audio + Video plans. Libsyn distributes video to YouTube on every plan and to Spotify on Advanced and Max. Blubrry supports video on every plan, Podbean from Unlimited Plus, and Transistor on all plans. Captivate sells Apple HLS video as an add-on.

Spotify for Creators hosts video, but its support page says video episodes “are only available on Spotify” and are audio-only elsewhere. ICONS Podcast hosting publishes audio only and converts uploaded video to audio.

How do moving in and leaving work?

Every host here imports an existing show from its RSS feed, but the details differ. Moving is mostly a redirect from the old host; the rest is fine print.

  • Buzzsprout. It imports your episodes and redirects your old feed, and promises to help you move back and refund charges if you aren’t happy within 90 days.
  • Podbean. Its pages disagree on whether import is free on all plans or only on Unlimited Audio and up.
  • Captivate. It describes importing your show and setting a 301 redirect, with an analytics import tool.
  • Transistor and Spotify. Both warn that analytics don’t transfer from your old host.
  • ICONS hosting. It confirms ownership with a code emailed to the feed’s owner, keeps identifiers, dates and numbering, and lets you export everything as a ZIP when you leave.

Export your download history before you switch, whichever host you pick.

Which host fits your situation?

The right host depends on whether you publish video, sell ads, or want the ICONS team to run the show. Three situations we see often:

  • Solo agent starting an audio show: a free host, either ICONS Podcast hosting or Spotify for Creators, or Blubrry Standard 1.5 at $7 a month. Check the free plans’ storage and episode limits first.
  • ICONS produces the show, or your team has a producer: ICONS Podcast hosting. Recordings become draft episodes with transcripts and notes filled in.
  • Agent publishing video or selling sponsorships: Buzzsprout, Libsyn or Captivate, for video publishing and certified stats.

Whichever you choose, keep the feed in an account you control so you can move it later with a redirect. The full checklist sits inside podcast hosting for real estate agents.

Frequently asked questions

Which podcast host is free?

As of October 2026, Spotify for Creators offers free hosting and takes a share of ad revenue from monetized shows, and ICONS Podcast hosting is free, with access through the form on its product page. Buzzsprout and Podbean have free plans with limits: Buzzsprout keeps episodes 90 days, and Podbean's free plan has 5 hours of total storage.

Do I need IAB-certified stats?

IAB certification matters most if you sell ads and a sponsor asks for certified numbers. For an agent using downloads to judge which episodes work, a host that filters bots and publishes its counting method may be enough. ICONS hosting and Transistor are not IAB-certified.

Can I move my podcast between these hosts?

Yes. Each host here describes importing an existing show from its RSS feed, and you set a redirect at the old host so listeners follow. Download history generally doesn't move, so export old stats first; video episodes become audio on an audio-only host.

Which hosts publish video podcasts?

Buzzsprout's Audio + Video plans, Libsyn, Blubrry, Podbean's Unlimited Plus and up, and Transistor all describe video publishing, and Captivate sells Apple video as an add-on. Spotify for Creators' video plays only on Spotify, and ICONS Podcast hosting is audio-only.
