What does Libsyn cost?

Libsyn costs $12 to $150 a month, billed monthly after a free trial, as of October 2026. On the Libsyn plans and pricing page, as read on October 9, 2026, the plans are:

  • Basic: $12 a month. You get 3 hours of audio uploads a month, Basic IAB Verified Stats and YouTube video distribution.
  • Advanced: $25 a month. This plan includes 10 hours of audio uploads a month, Advanced IAB Verified Stats and YouTube plus Spotify video distribution.
  • Max: $150 a month. It allows 55 hours of audio uploads a month, with YouTube plus Spotify video distribution.
  • Professional and Enterprise: through sales. These add dynamic ad insertion, API access, unlimited storage and a network feed.

Every plan includes video uploads of up to 100 GB a month, about 50 hours, and the first 30 days are free. A credit card is needed to start the trial. The page also mentions an “$8 Plan for the bare essentials” without listing what it includes, so ask Libsyn before choosing it.

Plans are sized by upload, not by audience: “Our hosting plans depend on how much new content you upload, not on your monthly download numbers.” Storage resets on the 1st of each month.

A weekly 45-minute show uses Libsyn Basic's 3 hours exactly in a four-episode month and runs over in a five-episode month.

How do you get ICONS Podcast hosting, and what does it cost?

ICONS Podcast hosting costs nothing, and you get it by asking for access via the form on the product page; there is no trial period and no card step. The ICONS team sets up the show, then you publish from the dashboard yourself.

Included, according to that page: your shows and episodes, a Podcasting 2.0 feed with transcript and chapter tags, a health check on the feed, and a guided checklist for submitting to 8 directories. Download stats, English transcripts, AI-drafted show notes, a show site and listener surveys are included too. Uploads are capped at 8 GB per file, and no monthly hour allowance is stated.

Which has the better download stats?

Libsyn offers IAB stats, while ICONS Podcast hosting relies on a published counting method. The company’s own pages use two labels: the pricing page says “IAB Verified”, and the analytics page says “Libsyn Analytics is officially IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) Certified.” Either way, Libsyn is set up for showing numbers to advertisers.

ICONS hosting drops bot traffic, data-centre requests and test pings, counts an episode once a listener has fetched a minute of audio, and counts each listener once a day. Those rules are public, and the service is not IAB-certified. The reasons counts vary from host to host are laid out in how podcast downloads are counted.

Distribution next. Libsyn says it “distributes to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and over 20 additional platforms automatically with a single upload.” ICONS hosting walks you through 8 directories with written steps and a tracker. You submit on each directory’s site; nothing is submitted for you.

Video, transcripts and websites

Libsyn distributes video and ICONS Podcast hosting stays audio-only. Libsyn includes YouTube video distribution on Basic, adds Spotify video on Advanced and Max, and lists Apple HLS video as coming soon. Its YouTube feature includes audio-to-video conversion. Upload a video to ICONS hosting and it becomes a podcast MP3.

Content tools favour ICONS hosting:

  • Transcripts. Libsyn lets you upload your own or use the ones Apple Podcasts generates. ICONS hosting transcribes automatically in English, lets you edit and adds transcripts to the feed.
  • Show notes. Libsyn’s pages checked did not list AI show notes. ICONS hosting drafts the title, summary, takeaways, keywords and chapters, and only writes into fields you left blank.
  • Websites. Libsyn “provides a podcast website at no extra charge” and supports custom domains. ICONS hosting builds a show site with episode pages plus about, contact, blog and subscribe pages, and gives you an embeddable player. The ICONS page doesn’t list custom domains.

If your show’s home is your own real estate website, see how to embed a podcast on your real estate or IDX website.

Where Libsyn does more

Libsyn does more as a full self-serve host with advertiser-grade tools. These are real advantages:

  • Video distribution. Video goes to YouTube on every plan and to Spotify on Advanced and Max.
  • IAB stats. Whether labelled verified or certified, they help when you quote numbers to a sponsor.
  • Custom domain for the show website.
  • Monetization options. Libsyn lists PodRoll, Automatic Podcast Ads, host-read ad sales and Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, with dynamic ad insertion on Professional and Enterprise. Its pages disagree on whether every plan includes the built-in tools, so confirm for your plan.
  • Wider automatic distribution to more than 20 platforms beyond the big three.
  • Pricing by uploads. A popular show doesn’t push you to a higher plan.

What ICONS Podcast hosting adds

ICONS Podcast hosting adds free transcripts and show-note drafts on top of a zero price. Its advantages:

  • Free. No trial clock, card or upload-hour tier applies.
  • Automatic transcripts. English transcripts are editable and added to the feed.
  • AI-drafted show notes that never overwrite what you wrote.
  • Listener surveys with up to 10 questions, hosted on the show site.
  • Detailed stats. Downloads split by country, region, app, device and operating system, a Monday summary email and spreadsheet export.
  • Easy exit. Export everything as a ZIP file, and a deleted account can be restored within 7 days.
  • Connected to ICONS Live. For ICONS-produced shows, recordings become draft episodes automatically.

Which host should an agent choose?

Choose Libsyn if you need video distribution or certified stats for sponsors, and ICONS Podcast hosting if free audio hosting with transcripts and show-note drafts is enough. The usual cases:

  • Solo agent starting an audio show: ICONS hosting costs nothing and drafts your show notes. Libsyn Basic’s 3 upload hours a month cover about three hour-long episodes.
  • ICONS produces the show, or a producer on your team does: ICONS hosting. Recordings arrive as draft episodes.
  • Agent on Libsyn with video on YouTube or Spotify: stay. Moving to ICONS hosting would make those episodes audio-only.

The same test applied to seven other hosts is in the eight-host comparison. For the wider checklist on choosing a host and keeping your feed under your control, read the guide to podcast hosting for real estate agents. To hand off publishing entirely, there is done-for-you podcast production.

Frequently asked questions

Does Libsyn have a free plan?

No free plan is listed. Libsyn's pricing page says your first 30 days are free on every plan, and a credit card is needed to start the trial. After that, plans are billed monthly, from $12 a month for Basic as of October 2026.

Can I move my podcast from Libsyn to ICONS hosting?

ICONS Podcast hosting imports a show from its existing feed, confirms you own it with a code emailed to the feed's owner, and keeps identifiers, dates and episode numbering. You then set a redirect at your old host; ICONS publishes audio only, so any video episodes become audio.

Is Libsyn IAB-certified?

Libsyn's analytics page says Libsyn Analytics is officially IAB Certified, while its pricing page labels the stats IAB Verified. ICONS Podcast hosting publishes its own counting method, filtering bots and counting a download after one minute of audio, but it is not IAB-certified.

Does Libsyn transcribe episodes?

Libsyn's features page says you can upload your own transcripts or use transcripts automatically generated through Apple Podcasts. ICONS Podcast hosting transcribes uploaded episodes automatically in English, lets you edit the transcript and adds it to your feed.
