What does Captivate cost?
Captivate costs $19 a month, or $17 a month paid yearly, on its Personal plan, as of October 2026. The Captivate pricing page, as read on October 9, 2026, has three plans in USD:
Personal: $19 a month, or $17 a month paid yearly. It covers up to 30,000 downloads a month.
Professional: $49 a month, or $44 a month paid yearly, for up to 150,000 downloads a month.
Business: $99 a month, or $90 a month paid yearly, for up to 300,000 downloads a month.
All plans include unlimited podcasts and unlimited uploads and storage. The FAQ says features aren’t restricted by plan, and that it reaches out if you go over the download limit two months in a row. It offers 25% off for students, education, charities and non-profits.
There is one inconsistency, in the trial length. The pricing page says “All plans include a no-obligation, 30-day free trial,” while its meta description says “Start your 7-day free trial now!” Check at sign-up.
Add-ons cost extra. Captivate Assistant transcription is $5 for five hours, and unused hours roll over. Apple HLS video is $12 a month per podcast, including up to 1,000 HLS downloads.
Captivate's plans differ only by download allowance, so most agent shows sit on Personal at $204 a year; ICONS hosting has no plan to choose.
What does ICONS Podcast hosting cost an agent?
ICONS Podcast hosting costs nothing for the shows that use it, and you ask to be set up via the form on the product page rather than picking a plan. Nothing on the page meters downloads or transcription hours.
Included, per the product page: Podcasting 2.0 feeds with transcript and chapter tags, a checklist for submitting to 8 directories, English transcripts, AI-drafted titles and summaries, a show website and listener surveys. Uploads can be as large as 8 GB.
Certified analytics versus a published method
Captivate has IAB-certified analytics, while ICONS Podcast hosting publishes its own counting method. Captivate lists “Advanced, IAB certified analytics” on its pricing page, and its analytics page says “Captivate is IAB-certified.”
ICONS hosting takes a different route: its download rules are public, counting a listener once a day after a minute of audio and dropping bots and data-centre traffic. That’s transparent, but it isn’t an IAB certificate. The differences between hosts are unpacked in our explainer, how podcast downloads are counted.
Getting into the apps: Captivate offers “one-click submission for the podcast platforms that support it” and quick links for the rest. On ICONS hosting you follow written steps for each of 8 directories and mark them done as you submit.
How do they compare on transcripts, video and private feeds?
Captivate charges a small fee for transcripts and video, while ICONS Podcast hosting includes transcripts but offers no video. Captivate Assistant generates transcripts, show notes, titles and chapters, and Captivate says “$5 gives you five hours of transcription.” ICONS hosting includes English transcripts along with drafted titles, summaries, takeaways, keywords and chapters.
On video:
Captivate sells Apple HLS video as an add-on, published at 720p on Apple Podcasts. For YouTube, its help center explains adding your RSS feed in YouTube Studio.
ICONS hosting is audio-only; a video upload becomes a podcast MP3.
On private feeds, Captivate includes private podcasting on all plans. ICONS hosting lets you mark episodes public or private, but its page doesn’t describe private subscriber feeds.

What Captivate has that ICONS hosting lacks
Captivate does more as a host built for growth and monetization. These are real advantages:
Every feature on every plan. You pick by download volume, not by feature list.
IAB-certified analytics for showing numbers to sponsors.
Private podcasting. Included on all plans, it suits agent training or an internal brokerage feed.
Monetization. Captivate lists AMIE dynamic content insertion on all plans, the DAX ad marketplace, memberships and one-off tips.
Room for a team. You can add unlimited team members to podcasts and networks.
Unlimited podcasts on one account.
Apple HLS video as a low-cost add-on.
What ICONS hosting has that Captivate lacks
ICONS Podcast hosting does more for an agent who wants writing help without buying hours. Its advantages:
Zero cost. No plan, trial or download allowance to watch.
Writing help included. Transcripts and AI-drafted titles, summaries and chapters come with every upload, where Captivate charges for transcription hours.
Audience questions. A survey of up to 10 questions can sit on the show website.
Where listeners are. Stats break down by country and region, app, device and OS, and owners get a Monday email.
No lock-in. Your whole account exports as one ZIP, with a 7-day undo if you delete it.
Production link. On ICONS-produced shows, recordings turn into draft episodes with notes already filled in.
Can you run Captivate and ICONS hosting side by side?
You can, if you run two separate shows, but one show’s feed should live with one host. Listeners and apps subscribe to a single RSS feed, so splitting one show’s episodes between hosts breaks the feed.
A split that can work for a brokerage:
A private training feed on Captivate. Private podcasting is included on every Captivate plan, so agent onboarding or internal updates can sit there.
The public interview show on ICONS hosting. If ICONS produces it, recordings become draft episodes and the transcripts and notes are drafted for you.
Keep each show’s feed in an account the brokerage controls, so either one can move later with a redirect.
Which should you choose?
Choose Captivate for certified stats, private feeds or ad tools, and choose ICONS Podcast hosting for a free audio host with transcripts and show notes included. The three agents we see most:
Solo agent launching an audio show: ICONS hosting costs nothing. Captivate Personal is $204 a year paid yearly, plus transcription hours.
A show ICONS produces, or a team with its own producer: ICONS hosting, since recordings arrive as drafts.
Brokerage running a private training feed or selling ads on Captivate: stay. Those features are what Captivate is built for.
Captivate’s place among eight hosts is in the eight-way podcast hosting comparison. To keep your feed under your control whichever host you choose, use the checklist from podcast hosting for real estate agents. For publishing handled end to end, there’s done-for-you podcast production.
Frequently asked questions
Does Captivate have a free plan?
+
No. Captivate's pricing FAQ answers 'Do you offer free plans?' with 'Nope!' It offers a 30-day free trial on all plans instead, though the page's meta description mentions a 7-day trial. Paid plans start at $19 a month, or $17 a month paid yearly, as of October 2026.
Can I move my podcast from Captivate to ICONS hosting?
+
ICONS Podcast hosting imports a show from its existing feed, confirms you own it with a code emailed to the feed's owner, and keeps identifiers, dates and episode numbering. You then set a redirect at your old host; ICONS publishes audio only, so video episodes become audio.
Are Captivate features limited by plan?
+
Captivate's pricing FAQ says features are not restricted by plan; the plans differ by monthly downloads, 30,000, 150,000 or 300,000. If you go over your limit two months in a row, Captivate says it will reach out about upgrading.
Does Captivate support video podcasts?
