Illustration with brand, visibility and profile icons for the guide: Adobe Express vs ICONS Design Studio: which should an agent use?

Adobe Express vs ICONS Design Studio is a choice between a broad design app and a free editor built for podcast episodes. Adobe Express is free, with Premium at US$9.99 a month billed monthly (October 2026), so it suits agents making all kinds of marketing graphics themselves. ICONS Design Studio is free and fills episode graphics automatically.

Adobe Express and ICONS Design Studio side by side

Adobe Express and ICONS Design Studio both make podcast covers and social graphics, but Adobe Express is a general app with large libraries, while Design Studio is built around episode data. The table draws on Adobe’s own pricing pages, as read on October 9, 2026, plus the Design Studio product page.

What does Adobe Express cost?

Adobe Express is free on its basic plan, and Premium costs US$9.99 a month on monthly billing, as of October 2026. The figures are from the Adobe Express pricing page and the price data it loads, read on October 9, 2026, all tax exclusive in US dollars:

  • Adobe Express Free: US$0. Adobe says it is “Free to use. No credit card required.”
  • Adobe Express Premium: US$9.99 a month, “No annual commitment, billed monthly,” with a 30-day free trial.
  • Adobe Firefly Pro: US$19.99 a month, billed monthly, with a 7-day free trial and 4,000 monthly generative credits.
  • Adobe Express Teams: US$4.99 per user a month for the first year, then US$7.99. It is an annual subscription billed monthly, with a 2-seat minimum.
  • Enterprise: contact sales.

The free plan card lists access to 100,000+ static and video templates, 5GB of storage, 10 days of version history, and scheduling to 1 account per social network. The comparison table adds limits: video up to 30 minutes long on Free, no 4K export, and “Free daily generations” for AI.

Adobe’s own pages don’t all agree. The free card says 100,000+ templates, the comparison table says 268,000+, and storage and stock counts also differ between the card and the table. Use the table as a guide and check in the app.

Bar chart of twelve months: Adobe Express Free US$0, Teams about US$60 a seat, Premium about US$120, Firefly Pro about US$240, ICONS Studio US$0

Is ICONS Design Studio free?

ICONS Design Studio is free, with no plan tiers or seats to buy. To get in, open the Design Studio page and fill in the access form, then sign in with Google from a desktop browser. Hosts and guests approve designs through a private review link, without an account.

For an agent, then, the choice isn’t about price. Adobe Express covers every kind of marketing graphic; Design Studio covers podcast graphics and fills them from the episode. Many agents will end up with both.

Covers and episode art: how do they compare?

Adobe Express offers far more templates, and ICONS Design Studio offers podcast-specific automation. Adobe’s podcast cover page says “Choose from dozens of online podcast cover template ideas,” and resize helps match platform sizes. Multi-format resize in one file is a paid feature.

ICONS Design Studio works from the episode:

  • Fill from episode. Title, episode number, season, date, guest name and photos fill in from ICONS Podcast hosting, in the show’s brand.
  • Missing details flagged. Anything that can’t be filled gets a yellow dashed outline.
  • Podcast export rules. Covers export as 3000x3000 JPGs under 512 KB; YouTube thumbnails as 1280x720 JPGs under 1.9 MB.
  • Bulk generate. One template can run across up to 200 episodes, delivered as a ZIP.
  • Magic resize. One design copies into up to 12 other sizes, which may need small fixes afterwards.

Why those cover sizes matter is explained in our podcast artwork size rules.

How do they compare on AI images, video and approvals?

Adobe Express has a larger AI and video toolset, while ICONS Design Studio adds labelling and client approval. Adobe Express lists free daily AI generations on its free plan and 250 or 4,000 monthly generative credits on paid plans. It also lists video captioning and a Clip Maker for turning video podcasts into captioned social clips.

ICONS Design Studio offers:

  • AI image tools. Generate, restyle (for example twilight or blue sky), enhance and Magic Layers, up to 40 pictures a day per person.
  • AI labelling. PNG and JPG exports with an AI picture carry a “made with AI” tag, and the editor offers the caption “Illustrative AI image, not the actual property.”
  • Audiograms. These are 3 to 90 seconds of episode audio with a moving waveform, with captions when the recording was made in ICONS Live.
  • Approvals. A private link lets the host pin comments and click Approve or Request changes.

If you use AI on property photos, never present the result as how the home looks, and check your MLS and broker rules.

Where Adobe Express does more

Adobe Express does more as a general-purpose design app. These are real advantages:

  • Huge template and stock libraries. The comparison table lists 268,000+ templates on Free and 519,000+ on paid plans, plus Adobe Stock photos, videos and icons.
  • No request needed. The free plan needs no credit card, and you can start in the next five minutes.
  • Mobile. Adobe says it works on desktop browsers and mobile phones.
  • Real-time co-editing and commenting on every plan.
  • Social scheduling. Plan and post to social channels directly.
  • 4K export and longer video on paid plans.
  • Breadth. Its static and video templates cover far more than podcast graphics.

What ICONS Design Studio adds

ICONS Design Studio adds the podcast-specific pieces a general app leaves to you. From the product page:

  • Free, with no seats or credits to buy.
  • Fill from episode data, so there’s no retyping of titles, numbers or guest names.
  • Bulk generate across up to 200 episodes.
  • Brand lock. Invited designers can change only words and photos.
  • Guest stills and checked quotes from ICONS Live recordings. Quote suggestions must match the transcript word for word.
  • Audiograms from the episode’s own audio.
  • Background removal on ICONS’ own servers, saved as a new picture.

So which one fits you?

Adobe Express fits an agent who makes every marketing graphic themselves, and ICONS Design Studio fits anyone with a podcast, since it costs nothing to add.

  • Solo agent doing it all: Adobe Express for listings and social, starting free and moving to Premium for brand kits, 4K and multi-format resize. Add Design Studio for the episode art.
  • Team with a producer: the Studio, for the show. Episode art fills itself and the host approves by link.
  • Agent already paying for Adobe Express: keep it for listing and social graphics, and ask for Design Studio access for the podcast side.

What a full agent brand costs, including graphics, is covered in how much real estate agent branding costs, and the bigger picture is in personal branding for real estate agents. The podcast graphics tools comparison puts Adobe Express next to Canva, Headliner and Wavve. For graphics made alongside editing and publishing, there is Icons podcast production.
