Why it works

Why this magnet fits this audience

In coastal markets, insurance and storm readiness are the questions buyers and owners ask before price. A checklist that answers them is useful every single year, which makes it a natural companion to the monthly report and a reason for insurance and inspection guests to send their clients to your show.

Before you publish

Insurance content should be checked by a licensed insurance professional before you publish it. Say so on the page.

Best for

Coastal or hurricane-belt local show whose regular guests include insurance agents, roofers and inspectors.

Coastal Homeowner's Insurance & Storm-Prep Checklist

Template contents · e.g. The Southwest Florida Homeowner's Insurance & Storm-Prep Checklist

Contents

  1. 01The pre-season checklist: 30 days out, 7 days out, 48 hours out
  2. 02Wind, flood and standard policies: what each covers
  3. 03Documents to photograph now
  4. 04Roof, windows and water: the inspection items that affect premiums
  5. 05Flood zones in [Region] and how to look yours up
  6. 06Buying near the water: questions to ask before you offer
  7. 07After the storm: who to call, in what order
  8. 08Local contacts: [county] emergency management, utilities, your insurer
Sample page
This checklist is built for homes in [Region] and it is meant to be used, not read once. Print the pre-season page and put it on the inside of a cupboard door. The insurance chapter explains, in plain language, the difference between a wind policy, a flood policy and the standard homeowner's policy, and why a house can be covered by all three and still have a gap. If you are buying near the water, the questions in Chapter 6 belong in your first conversation with an agent, not your last. Keep the contacts page where you can find it in the dark.

On air

How to mention it on air

Same read, every episode, at the end. Say the URL twice and give the keyword for anyone who is driving. The editor drops the QR code over the closing line in the video version.

  1. 1.Put the magnet on a short URL. Create a landing page for the Coastal Homeowner's Insurance & Storm-Prep Checklist at [site].com/storm: under 15 characters, no dashes or numbers, not the homepage.
  2. 2.Choose one keyword. Set up STORM as a text keyword or a comment-to-DM keyword so listeners can get the magnet without typing a URL.
  3. 3.Add the 20-second read to every episode. The script on the right.
  4. 4.Show a QR code and pin the link. Overlay a QR code during the closing line of the video version, and put the link in the YouTube description and a pinned comment.
  5. 5.Tag the link per episode. Use a UTM-tagged link on each placement so the hosting stats show which episode produced each sign-up.

The 20-second read, as Heather Hitz would say it
