Referral-Partner Sign-Up

Why it works

Why this magnet fits this audience

Every out-of-area guest and listener has clients who move, and most of them have no one they trust in [Market]. A sign-up page with a plain promise (how fast you respond, how you report back, how the fee works) gives them a reason to send the next one to you, and it costs almost nothing to build.

Before you publish

Referral fees are regulated and vary by state. Have your broker approve the fee wording before the page goes live.

Best for

Agent-facing show with out-of-area guests, or a local show whose host wants inbound referrals from other markets.

Effort

To create
A short page and a form; a few hours
To refresh
Partner directory as it grows
Basis
The brief gives no figure for this page; it is a form, not a guide

Sample page
If you have a client moving to [Market], we would like to be the agent you send them to, and we would like to send ours to you. Here is how it works with us. You introduce the client by email or a quick call; we respond the same business day; you get an update at every milestone and a closing report at the end. The referral fee is the standard one and is confirmed in writing before we start. Fill in the form with your market and the best way to reach you. We keep a partner directory by market, and we use it.

On air

How to mention it on air

Same read, every episode, at the end. Say the URL twice and give the keyword for anyone who is driving. The editor drops the QR code over the closing line in the video version.

  1. 1.Put the magnet on a short URL. Create a landing page for the Referral-Partner Sign-Up at [site].com/refer: under 15 characters, no dashes or numbers, not the homepage.
  2. 2.Choose one keyword. Set up REFER as a text keyword or a comment-to-DM keyword so listeners can get the magnet without typing a URL.
  3. 3.Add the 20-second read to every episode. The script on the right.
  4. 4.Show a QR code and pin the link. Overlay a QR code during the closing line of the video version, and put the link in the YouTube description and a pinned comment.
  5. 5.Tag the link per episode. Use a UTM-tagged link on each placement so the hosting stats show which episode produced each sign-up.

The 20-second read, as Andrea Gordon would say it

about 20 seconds

“If you're an agent outside the Bay Area and you ever have a client moving here, we'd love to be your referral partner, and we'll send ours your way. Sign up in two minutes at andreagordon.com/refer. That's andreagordon.com/refer. Or comment REFER and we'll reach out.”

andreagordon.com/referREFER

Example read for REalizations Podcast; the [number] is the host's text keyword line.

Generic version, with [Show] and [City] placeholders

“If you're an agent outside [Market] and you ever have a client moving here, we'd love to be your referral partner, and we'll send ours your way. Sign up in two minutes at [show].com/refer. That's [show].com/refer. Or comment REFER and we'll reach out.”

[site].com/referREFER

Placements

Where to put it

  • Landing page at [show].com/refer with the promise above the form
  • Mentioned at the end of every out-of-area guest episode; linked in show notes
  • YouTube description, pinned comment and QR during the closing CTA
  • Monthly reel: 'A referral from [State] closed this week', ending with 'Comment REFER'
  • Quote cards from out-of-area guests carry the short URL

Follow-up

The five emails after the download

A magnet without follow-up is a download, not a lead. Subject lines and the point of each email.

  1. 1Welcome, partner

Thank them; restate the promise; ask about their market.

  2. 2How we handle a referral, in one page

The process, so they know what their client will experience.

  3. 3A referral that closed

An anonymized example and what the sending agent received.

  4. 4Who do you know in [State]?

Ask for an introduction to another partner; offer one back.

  5. 5Want to come on the show?

Invite a guest spot; partners make good episodes.

The brief

What we need from you to build it

A short questionnaire, about 10 minutes. Skip anything you don't know; we'll ask on the call. This is what it covers.

For every magnet

  • Your show name
  • Your website (where the magnet will live)
  • Who can add a page to your website?
  • Brand kit
  • Where should new leads go?
  • CRM name (if any)
  • Phone number for the text keyword (optional)
  • Instagram / Facebook handle for the comment keyword
  • Preferred short URL path
  • Does your brokerage need to approve consumer-facing material?
  • Broker or compliance contact (if needed)
  • When do you want to start mentioning it on air?

For the Referral-Partner Sign-Up

  • Your market (where you want referrals sent)
  • Referral terms you offer (fee %, how it's paid) and whether a broker must review them
  • What makes you the right agent for a referral (niches, price bands, languages)
