Before: a real estate investor with no podcast experience
Chris is a civil engineer, a Marine Corps veteran and a Certified 10X Business Coach. He grew from a single condo to a multi-unit portfolio and coaches other investors on cash flow. He wanted a show where he could talk shop with active investors in markets like Dallas-Fort Worth and Milwaukee.
What he didn’t have was any experience running a podcast, or a list of guests ready to come on. His questions at the start were the basic ones every new host has: how does this work, what does the process look like, and how do you become a good host?
What changed: coaching, a guest pipeline and production handled for him
"They’ve helped me to launch my podcast guiding me through this whole process, showing me the ropes."
- Coaching before launch: answers to how the process works and how to be an effective host.
- Guests from the Icons network: the team reached out to guests for him, so he didn’t need his own guest list to start.
- Production after recording: editing, short reels from each episode and publishing, all done by the Icons team.
"So, if you don’t have a big guest list, they’ll reach out to their own network and they’ll fill up your schedule with guests and keep you booked so that you got a nice backlog of episodes."
After: a show on air and a growing YouTube channel
The Cash Flow Authority launched with episodes in the bank instead of a blank calendar. Within the first week of publishing, Chris saw views on the first episodes and his YouTube subscriber base grow.
"So, if you’re looking to do a podcast, especially centered around real estate, then this is a great great platform and a great company to work with."
What other agents and investors can take from it
- You don’t need a guest list to start. A network that books guests for you means your first recordings aren’t waiting on your own outreach.
- Ask the beginner questions early. Coaching before the first recording is quicker than learning by trial and error on air.
- Keep your time for the conversation. When editing, clips and publishing are handled, your job is to show up and host.
