How it all started

As a seasoned real estate professional, I have come to understand that success in this industry requires a strategic approach and a tireless work ethic. For my team, the pursuit of excellence and the desire to achieve our fullest potential led us to become the Lee Tessier Team of eXp Realty in January 2021. However, our journey towards this milestone was far from straightforward. It all began with a simple yet ambitious goal: to provide unparalleled customer service and to continuously strive for excellence. Our early days at RE/MAX laid the foundation for our growth, enabling us to climb the ranks and become the 39th ranked team in the country. But we knew that there was still more to be accomplished, more opportunities for development, and more potential for impact. This realization led us to Keller Williams, where we continued to refine our skills and forge valuable connections in the industry. Through attending Gary Keller’s masterminds, I gained invaluable insights that have shaped my approach to real estate. Along the way, I learned the significance of cultivating camaraderie with both peers and mentors.

These experiences laid the groundwork for Tessier Real Estate, the culmination of my lifelong dream to own my own independent brokerage. With the unwavering support of my team and the connections forged over the years, I was finally ready to take the next step forward.

As Tessier Real Estate, we were able to build our own culture, brand, and mission. It provided us with the flexibility we always wanted to design our own processes and systems and make decisions that directly aligned with our business goals and core values.  However, I quickly realized running an independent brokerage also has its challenges, as it requires a significant investment of time, money, and resources to build and maintain a successful business.  But hey, I had finally achieved my dream and we were named the #1 team in Harford County for ten consecutive years, so why would we change?

As happy as I was, I couldn’t help but wonder…could we be missing out on something big?  I kept seeing my friends and peers from other real estate companies across the country move their teams and small brokerages to eXp Realty and were thriving.   After many conversations with friends that made the move to join eXp realty, I found myself excited about all the opportunities and benefits it would provide for my team.  I decided it was time to join eXp Realty!

Joining exp

Since joining eXp, I have been pleasantly surprised by the abundance of support and benefits they offer. In addition to offering my team members and I access to eXp health insurance, stock options, and revenue share, eXp also provides us with an unparalleled array of resources. When we joined eXp Realty, one of my biggest hurdles was overcome with more ease than I ever thought possible…expanding into multiple markets. In only a short few months, the Lee Tessier Team was able to expand into Florida and Pennsylvania, all under the umbrella of a single brokerage and one commission cap. This has not only simplified our operations but has also allowed us to expand into new markets and capitalize on previously untapped opportunities. The support and resources offered by eXp have been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and position ourselves for continued growth and success.  If you have any questions at all, for any state, you can easily jump into the eXp world and get an answer almost immediately from that state’s broker.  There’s not another brokerage out there that can provide this level of service and convenience.

eXp Realty caught my eye because they have been at the forefront of the virtual revolution, well before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a cloud-based brokerage, eXp was ideally positioned to embrace virtual reality as an integral part of our everyday business practices. This allowed us to seamlessly continue operations during the pandemic by offering robust virtual platforms and online support systems to keep us and our clients connected, informed, and engaged. The unwavering commitment of eXp to stay ahead of the curve and offering cutting-edge technology has been instrumental in our ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving real estate business landscape. Developing strong relationships and gaining insight from established industry leaders have been critical factors in our company’s success. With the aid of eXp University, this process has become more accessible and streamlined than ever before for my team.  The courses offered through eXp University have allowed us to improve our understanding of the industry and develop successful sales strategies without incurring the financial burden of traditional brokerage education. In contrast to other large brokerages that charge for specialty and advanced training, eXp University provides live and on-demand classes taught by industry experts and top-performing agents at no additional cost. They offer a comprehensive list of more than 80 weekly classes, ranging from lead generation and social media marketing to my personally taught Icon Series course, “Building A Foundation of Daily Success Habits.”  We can be confident in our ability to stay informed and up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in the industry.  By promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing, eXp Realty and eXp University have helped us to grow as a team and succeed in our real estate careers.

As a real estate agent, your income can be unpredictable, with some months being more fruitful than others. This can make it difficult to plan for the future and save money.  Plus, as we all know, realtors can be notorious for not saving money.  That’s why the eXp Realty Rev-Share program got me excited about the opportunities for additional income for my team. Our agents that take part in this enjoy a reliable source of passive income that can help supplement their earnings during slower months.
